Our Story
My name is Milla Demireva, and my journey with Labradors has been one of love, learning, and lifelong passion. From early childhood, I was drawn to animals. My parents often said I was born to be an animal lover. It all began in 1991 with a horse race that sparked a love for horses. A few years later, I watched the original 101 Dalmatians movie from 1961—and it was the Black Labrador helping the puppies escape that stole my heart. That image stayed with me for years.
In 2004, fate stepped in. I met a black Labrador guide dog named Tango on the street, and from that moment, everything changed. I was officially "bitten by the bug."

How It All Began
I was 18 when my first Labrador came home—a sweet little yellow girl I had bought from a pet store. Tragically, she passed away the very next morning. The heartbreak was overwhelming. No dog, and no loving owner, should ever have to go through such pain and disappointment. That moment changed me. I knew I wanted to take a stand against pet stores and puppy mills that prioritize profit over animal welfare—though I had no idea then just how far that conviction would take me.
Determined to do better, I reached out to the national Labrador club. Soon after, I welcomed a healthy, beautiful yellow boy into my life—our beloved Ted. He grew strong and joyful, loved by everyone around him. I was finally living my dream, but something was still tugging at my heart—I couldn’t stop thinking about the black and chocolate Labradors I’d always admired.
I hesitantly mentioned the idea of a second dog to my parents. To my surprise, just a couple of months later, I contacted a reputable breeder in Moscow who had a new litter of chocolate puppies, born to a stunning dam and an exceptional Finnish sire. Not long after, my second Labrador arrived—a puppy I named after the black Lab I once met on the street: Tango.

The Heart of NOELANY
I first met Tango at the cargo terminal—still in his crate, being gently fed biscuits by the kind staff. When I opened the door, he greeted me with the most tender, loving kisses I’ve ever known. From that very first moment, he became my soulmate. Over the years, Tango remained the sweetest companion, and I often found myself simply watching him in quiet gratitude, knowing how blessed I was to share part of my life with such a dog. Ted and Tango quickly became best friends, filling my home with joy, energy, and a deep sense of purpose.
About a year later, I felt it was time to take the next step. That’s when the journey became more serious—with the arrival of my third Labrador, and my very first female. She came from the same kennel in Moscow as Tango, a gorgeous chocolate puppy I named Barca. Her breeder told me she was special, but I had no idea just how extraordinary she would turn out to be.
It was around this time that I registered my official kennel name: NOELANY, a Hawaiian word meaning “from heaven.” I chose it in the hope that every puppy born here would carry a little piece of that blessing into their new homes.
With Tango and Barca as my foundation, I immersed myself in the world of Labradors. We trained in the field as gundogs, traveled together, and celebrated successes in shows and competitions. Eventually, I welcomed my first two litters—each one a milestone filled with learning, excitement, and pride.
Barca was unforgettable—a once-in-a-lifetime dog, both in beauty and spirit. Tragically, she passed away just two months before her 7th birthday, leaving a void that still aches. Even more difficult was the fact that she left no daughter to carry her legacy forward in my breeding program.
Yet, as heartbroken as I was, I knew I had to keep going—for the love of the breed, and for the dream that started it all.
Building the Dream
In the years that followed, I continued developing my hobby by bringing in a few more puppies with hopes of adding to my breeding program. However, not all of them turned out as I had envisioned. After much reflection, I made the difficult but responsible decision to rehome those dogs into loving pet families. I believed then—and still do—that every dog deserves a life where they are truly valued and can thrive, even if that means letting go for the greater good.
At the end of 2010, a new and exciting chapter began when I became friends with Saudjie and John Crook of the renowned Balrion Weathertop kennel in North Wales. Through this connection, I welcomed two exceptional girls into my home—both of whom would go on to become Champions.
The first was the elegant black Ch Balrion Weathertop Aurora, affectionately known as Little Green or simply Greenie. The second was the stunning chocolate Ch Balrion Weathertop Hazelburn, lovingly called Hazel. These two girls marked a turning point in my journey, bringing both quality and new promise into the heart of NOELANY.

Expanding Globally
Over the years, more incredible dogs have joined the NOELANY family. One of the most unforgettable was Remmy (Hillsides Looking Back), a chocolate male from Vermont, USA. A son of the world-renowned GB Ch. Cambremer Tom Cobbley of Charway, Remmy had one of the most outstanding temperaments I could have ever hoped for. He quickly bonded with my homebred Champion, Noelany Rainforest—known lovingly as Forest—and the two became inseparable. I shared so many joyful moments with them, and I’m deeply grateful to Remmy’s breeder, Pamela Leslie, for entrusting him to us.
At the same time, my friendship with the wonderful Pam Gregg of Catraz Labradors in Australia brought two more treasures into our lives—Catie (Catraz Overseas Noelany Haven) and Rider (Catraz Riding Waves to Noelany), both chunky, chocolate puppies with exceptional presence and charm.
Now, I'm proud to have several generations of NOELANY Labradors here at home—each one a piece of our story. You can meet them on the "Our Dogs" page and explore some of the happy faces of their families, now spread across the globe.
My goal remains the same: to preserve and promote the true Labrador Retriever, as described in the original British breed standard—dogs with kind, intelligent temperaments, a strong will to please, classic type, balanced structure, and unmistakable Labrador features: a thick coat, otter tail, and expressive head.
Above all, I aim to breed healthy, sound dogs who are fit for function—whether they are show stars, working partners, or beloved family companions.
